Project description

As part of the preliminary project "The Green Line - Smart City Pöchlarn 2030", the small town of Pöchlarn has developed a modular climate protection concept to reduce dependency on individual energy sources and make better use of existing energy potential. One aspect is the optimization of the district heating supply.

The aim of this project is to explore diversification strategies for a sector coupled district heating supply, taking into account existing energy assets and energy sources. The implementation requires an overarching strategy that takes into account the overall urban heat planning. Aspects such as land use/dedication, a techno-economically optimized operating model, data exchange/data protection, operator structure, etc. are relevant here.

Expected results:

  • Strategy for sector-coupled diversification of the district heating supply
  • Recommendations for new urban system concepts for secure, market-independent and price-stable energy generation
