Project description

The municipality of Seiersberg-Pirka, located south of the provincial capital of Graz, has a population of around 12,000. Due to its proximity to Graz, it is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Austria. With numerous commercia zones and the Shopping City Seiersberg – the third largest shopping center in Austria – located in the municipal area, Seiersberg-Pirka has also established itself as an important business location.

As a “family- and child-friendly” municipality, Seiersberg-Pirka is committed to preserving the quality of life for future generations. To this end, a climate neutrality roadmap with a horizon of 2040 is being developed, which defines concrete strategies and measures in addition to a holistic vision for the municipality.

The fields of action are construction and renovation, energy and the environment, mobility and transportation, life and the economy as well as climate change adaptation and the environment.

The climate neutrality roadmap serves as a guideline for the implementation of sustainable measures and is seen as a “living document” that is regularly evaluated, updated and further developed.
