Project presentation
Project description
Due to the increasing number of decentralized fluctuating energy generation plants as part of the energy transition, our energy system is facing complex challenges. Different systemic developments and models offer new possibilities (such as local energy communities) to overcome these challenges on a local or regional level. However, implementation is usually associated with considerable costs, which excludes lower-income groups of the population.
In the project, low-cost concepts for community generation units (ElWOG §16a) and for the use of existing flexibilities (e.g. hot water storage tanks) with minimally invasive interventions, as well as corresponding business models are developed that enable residents of apartment buildings to participate in the energy transition and benefit from it.
Social housing developments from various housing developers serve as the study areas.
